How many RV parks are there in the Florida Keys? Until I began researching, I had no idea that there are 23 RV Parks in the Florida Keys! Not all of them can accommodate large Class A RVs like ours, but at least 14 of them can and they are spread out throughout the 113-mile long island chain.

Read on to find out about all the RV Parks in the Florida Keys and begin planning your next RV adventure to the islands of the Sunshine State. The Florida Keys offers something for everyone who enjoys water sports. Since Florida is a peninsula, there is water on both sides of the state. The Gulf of Mexico is on the West side of the state and the Atlantic Ocean is on the East side of the state. This means you can sportfish in the Atlantic Ocean in the morning and kayak in the Gulf of Mexico in the afternoon. There is only one road in and out of the Florida Keys – US 1 and it ends at the southernmost point of the United States in Key West. There are mile marker signs on the side of the road counting the miles down as you drive south beginning at mile marker 112 in the Upper Florida Keys (Key Largo), and ending in zero in Key West. Directions will often include the mile marker and whether a property is ocean-side (on your left as you drive south) or bay-side (on your right as you drive south). To help you locate the RV Parks in the Florida Keys, be sure to pay attention to the mile markers usually listed in the address.

For those RVers that want to visit the islands but don’t want to be too far from the mainland of Miami, the Upper Florida Keys is an excellent option. There are 5 RV RV Parks in the Florida Keys on the northern end of the Florida Keys.

Staying at an RV Park in the Upper Florida Keys gives you some options that staying at a park further south does not. The Upper Florida Keys have the same great world-class diving and fishing like the other Keys, and a visit to the Everglades is then only an hour away making it an easy day trip.

Tip- Want to learn more about the Everglades? This link takes you to their official website at the National Park Service.

Here are the 5 RV Parks in the Florida Keys in order of location as you are driving south toward Key West. It’s only one hour from Miami, has full hookups, a small dog park, and offers pull-through and pull-in sites.

The entire resort is brand new with a great heated pool and spa that overlooks Florida Bay. There are a few sites located right on the bay, but be sure to book well in advance.

Don’t want to drive as far south as the Florida Keys? There are many RV Resorts located throughout Florida that can accommodate large Class A RVs. You should definitely put John Pennekamp on your list of RV Parks in the Florida Keys to visit since it’s the only one like it in the world!

Tip: You can book Florida State Parks 11 months in advance!

Key Largo Kampground 305-451-1431 The only privately-owned RV Park located on the ocean in the Upper Florida Keys, Key Largo Kampground and Marina is located behind the Publix grocery store in Key Largo.
